Court Open House - 2015
The Environmental Division hosted its annual Open House event in the Courthouse atrium. The Court Open House pulls together more than 30 partner agencies to share the collective resources, opportunities, and successes in a common mission to improve and protect our most valuable natural resources - OUR COMMUNITIES.
FamJam 2015
The Environmental Court was honored to again participate in FamJam in September 2015. FamJam is a collaboration between Franklin County Childrens Services and the City of Columbus that serves as a free, family-focused event.
Families from across Columbus and all Central Ohio attend this annual event that brings together city residents and showcases the resources every parents may need. The Environmental Court joined an army of volunteers and community agencies that encircle the Columbus Commons and share the educational, social, and health-focused resources available to Central Ohio families.

NASW Awards Dinner
The Ohio chapter of the National Association of Social Workers presented Judge Hawkins with its 2015 Elected Official of the Year award. The award was in recognition for his leadership and foresight in calling together the resources and organizations to develop the first Court-based Hoarding response program that addresses personal/public safety in connection with mental health treatment.
The pilot program will serve as a model for addressing compulsive hoarding in both court-related and traditional individual hoarding cases.

Franklin County Fair
The Environmental Court shared its educational and community resources brochures with the attendees of this years Franklin County Fair.
The Court's Community Cleanup Crew was on-hand to assist in keeping litter and trash from detracting from the great weather and excitement of the week.
Community Events/Festivals
Throughout the year the Environmental Court shares its mission, educational brochures, and community resources with various blockwatch groups and through attending community events.
To reinforce the Court's dedication to promoting cleaner and safer communities for Central Ohio residents the Court's Community Cleanup Crew has worked with several neighborhood groups to both prepare for and cleanup after these outreach events.
